Although Iowa is one of the better surveyed states in the country, we still have much to learn about distribution and numbers of many species. We are especially interested in learning of new populations of those species listed as "Species of Concern".

We invite you to add to our knowledge by entering sightings into our database. All records will be evaluated for accuracy by considering such things as level of evidence (specimen collected, photographed, caught and examined), difficulty of identification, and experience of the observer. With time we hope to gain a good base of volunteer observers to add immensely to our knowledge of these fascinating critters.
