Iowa Dancers

Dancers (Argia) are a genus of damselflies with long spines on the tibia.  Their behavior of sitting on the ground and flying short distances gives them the appearance of "dancing".  Most members of this genus are a shade of blue except for the appropriately named Violet Dancer.  Iowa has seven species.
